Vehicles that use LPG

Information about registration for vehicles that use LPG or CNG in the Australian Capital Territory

If you have converted your vehicle to LPG or CNG or you are renewing registration for a vehicle that uses LPG or CNG you will be required to have an annual inspection. This inspection needs to be done by an accredited gas fitter who will then issue you with a gas certificate.

This inspection cannot be done at the Dickson Motor Registry but you will be able to find an accredited gas fitter by checking through the Yellow Pages Directory or contacting an approved inspection station in your area to see if they do these types of inspections or by clicking on the Active Gas Fitters link.

You must present an original gas certificate to the Road Transport Authority. Photocopies are not accepted.

Gas powered vehicles may also be entitled to concessional registration. Please click the link below for more information.
