Pre-paid longstay parking ticket

Information about pre-paid longstay parking tickets in the Australian Capital Territory

Where can they be used?

Prepaid longstay parking tickets can be used in multi-stay ticket parking areas. This saves you the inconvenience of carrying exact change and purchasing a ticket from the ticket machine every day. The cost of a prepaid ticket depends on the fee structure of the car park and the period to be prepaid. Prepaid tickets can be purchased weekly, monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly or annually.

Prepaid parking tickets provide a discount of between 5% and 10% depending on the fee structure within the multi-stay carpark.

When you purchase a weekly ticket it is valid for the whole week (seven days). When purchasing a monthly ticket it is valid to the same date of the following month, for example: 17 June 2012 to 17 July 2012. This method applies to all the prepaid parking tickets.

Prepaid tickets do not guarantee you space in any particular car park and once vacated a car space becomes available for use by other motorists. A prepaid ticket can be used in any Territory multi-stay ticket car park as long as the fee is equal to or less than the fee displayed on the ticket.

Maps of pay parking car parks within town centres can help you to locate the most convenient space. Please note that the maps contain sites of both government and privately owned car parks.

Please Note:

  • Prepaid parking tickets cannot be used in short stay car parks and can only be used in ACT Government car parks.

  • No refunds or credit will be given for lost or stolen pre-paid tickets.

How do I purchase one?

Prepaid longstay parking tickets can be purchased online, or by calling 13 22 81 or by attending a Canberra Connect Shopfront. If you purchase the ticket online or via telephone, the ticket will be sent to your home address.
