ACT licensees seeking to upgrade their current ACT car licence to licence classes LR or higher,
can learn to drive on their existing licences provided they pass a knowledge test
at a Road Ready Centre (Downer or Phillip).
People who are learning to drive must be accompanied by a person who
holds a current, full licence class for the type of vehicle being used for tuition or a
higher licence class. The tutor must have held that higher class of licence for at least 1 year.
The tutor is to supervise the learner with respect to the driving of the vehicle.
All learner drivers are required to display "L" plates on their vehicles.
Please refer to the Yellow Pages for a list of accredited training providers.
