Probationary and Restricted Licences


Payment details and information about the probationary licence and the restricted licence in the Australian Capital Territory. 

Probationary

All drivers and riders returning to driving after a court imposed licence disqualification will be issued with a probationary licence.

The MAXIMUM permitted blood-alcohol concentration for probationary licence holders is below 0.02.

Restricted

Some drivers and riders who have received a court imposed licence disqualification may apply to the court for a restricted licence permitting them to drive during specific hours or for specific purposes, but these are only issued in very limited circumstances.

People whose licences have been suspended under the points demerit scheme are not eligible to apply for a restricted licence.

The MAXIMUM permitted blood-alcohol concentration for restricted licence holders is below 0.02.
