Restrictions
Information on restrictions imposed on Australian
Capital Territory learner and novice motorcycle riders.
Under the restrictions, learners and novice licence holders can only ride motorcycles with a power to weight ratio NOT
EXCEEDING 150 kilowatts per tonne until they have held a provisional motorcycle licence for 12 months.
Provisional riders, within the first 12 months must not carry a pillion
passenger.
The normal duration for a provisional motorcycle licence is 3 years.
The normal duration for an additional provisional licence is 1 year.
