Information on driver licence fees in the Australian Capital Territory.

Fees are subject to change without notice and are indicative examples only.  They do not represent any exemptions or concessions available.

Replacement for lost, destroyed or defaced licence is $29.00.

Full or National Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence

The cost for a licence is $141.90 (valid for 5 years).  This includes taxi, public bus and private hire cars.

A one year licence is available at $40.30 and may only be issued with the Office Manager's approval.

Learner Licence

Learner licence & Learner pack $42.60. 

Renew learner licence $33.25. 

Underage motorbike learner licence $40.30.

Provisional Licence

Original $85.15.

Underage $40.30.

Probationary Licence

Original $155.40.

Restricted Licence

Restricted licence $155.40.

Practical Driving Test

First or subsequent test for up to 55 minutes $78.40 (includes GST).

Fee for changing the time and/or date of a practical assessment $12.80 (includes GST).

Fee for the cancellation of a practical driving test $12.80. This amount is deducted when the refund is processed.

Police Character Check

The fee for a police character check is $32.73 made payable to the Australian Federal Police.
