Information about privacy for young adults can be found in the “private

Driver
Licences
Information
being collected for the purposes of driver licence transactions may be used by
the Road Transport Authority for the administration of driver licensing and
vehicle registration, legislation and law enforcement. The information may be
disclosed to Commonwealth, Territory or State law enforcement agencies;
transport authorities; government agencies authorised by law; Compulsory Third
Party Insurers; and individuals, their agents or insurers following a motor
vehicle accident.
Photographic Images
The Road
Transport Authority is authorised to retain a digital copy of your photograph
and signature under Part 4 of the Road Transport
(Driver Licensing) Act 1999. Retained images may be used to assist in
addressing identity fraud and disclosed to law enforcement and court agencies,
interstate road authorities, or when authorised by law. The
Privacy Act 1988 prevents the ACT Government
from using your information and retained images for any unauthorised purpose and
require it to implement safeguards to protect the information and retained
images from unauthorised access.
Vehicle
Registrations
Information being collected for the purposes of vehicle registration
transactions may be used for the administration of driver licensing and vehicle
registration legislation and law enforcement. The information may be disclosed
to Commonwealth, Territory or State law enforcement agencies; transport
authorities; government agencies authorised by law; Compulsory Third Party
Insurers; and individuals, their agents or insurers following a motor vehicle
accident. Confirmation on a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ basis of current registered operator,
registration status, vehicle ‘stolen’ status or outstanding defects on the
vehicle may be disclosed to prospective acquirers.
Statistical Information for the rego.act Website
When you browse
our web site, our system automatically makes a record of your visit and logs the
following information for statistical purposes:

Your Internet Service
Provider's (ISP) Server address;

Top level domain name (eg:
.com, .net, .gov, .au etc);

Date and time of your visit;

Which pages are accessed;

The time spent on individual
pages and the site overall; and

Which files are downloaded.
However, we do
not record your user identity or email address unless you choose to send us a
message. In that event your email address will only be used for the purpose for
which you provided it, and will not be added to any mailing list unless you ask
for this to be done. We will not use your email address for any other purpose,
and will not disclose it to other persons or organisations without your consent.
