If you make any changes affecting your vehicle's description - for example, painting it a different colour, replacing the engine or altering the vehicle's configuration - you must notify the Road Transport Authority as soon as practicable, but within 14 days and have the vehicle inspected at the vehicle inspection station in Dickson (by appointment only) or by an authorised examiner.  An inspection fee may be applicable.

If approved, the changes will be recorded, and a new registration certificate and label will be issued.

If the changes require additional registration fees to be paid, you must not use the vehicle on the road until the Authority has been advised that these have been paid.  Payment can be made at any Canberra Connect Shopfront.
